What a gem!!⭐ Everything tasted amazing and the staff were so sweet. They even offered us their traditional drink to try for free. Paella was full of flavors, ceviche was fresh and well-spiced, and salmon dish was so delicious and it was cooked beautifully. We enjoyed every bite. I will for sure come back

The interior is unassuming, but the food and service are incredible! All of our food was beautifully presented and delicious. I ordered the Mixta salad and could taste the quality of the ingredients. The salmon was perfectly flaky, and the salad tasted fresh. The dressing was well balanced - enough to impart flavor but not overwhelming. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. She even brought over free drink samples for new mixed drinks that aren’t on the menu yet. We felt really well cared for when we were at Rockoto! They were also easily able to accommodate our party of 7. My only critique is that it was sometimes hard to hear other people at our table because the acoustics of the restaurant made all of the sounds echo-y. But it wasn’t a big deal and we all had a good time. Thanks for hosting us for a great dinner!

The food is good. However, their menu is limited so we each ordered our own dishes and the only thing we shared was empanadas (mushroom and chicken). I ordered the lomo Saltado, honey ordered his Churrasco Criollo, mother had pollo peruana and my brother in law ordered tallarin verde with chicken. Of course, we also tried their pisco sour. It wasn’t bad, however puerto 27 and limon was better. I would come back though. 05/27/2025 We came back. We came and ordered: jalea, aji de gallina, chaufa combo, salmon a lo machado, and lomo saltado. Everything was good and the salmon a lo machado is very different. Don’t recall seeing anything like it. We also ordered pisco sour. Not as strong as limon and puerto 27 but good.. We would definitely come back.

We came here looking for a nice, quaint local restaurant. Stumbled on this gem and was not disappointed. Came in for a late lunch and had the place to ourselves. The owner was there and made us feel very welcome. Had great suggestions for meal choices and definitely hit the mark. Food was outstanding! Pricing was pretty much in line with what was expected for the quality and the location. Would definitely consider going back if the opportunity presents itself.

I stopped by Rockoto Peruvian Cuisine in South San Francisco on a quiet afternoon and left incredibly impressed. I tried the Ají de Gallina empanadas, and they were nothing short of amazing. The empanada crust was perfectly crisp and golden, and the filling was rich, creamy, and bursting with traditional Peruvian flavor. You could taste the layers of seasoning and care that went into each bite—it was honestly one of the best empanadas I’ve ever had. On top of the fantastic food, the customer service was outstanding. The staff was warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about the food they serve. They took the time to chat with me and made the entire experience feel personal and authentic. Rockoto is a hidden gem, and I’m so glad I stopped in. If you’re in the area—or even if you’re not—it’s absolutely worth the trip. I’ll definitely be coming back to explore more of the menu!

I really wanted to like this restaurant. My wife and I spent ~$100 on lunch and two drinks here. We both had paella ($32). We initially assumed the paella serving might be sharable based on the price but it was not large enough for that. Food was fine. If value was better I would probably rate the restaurant higher. The menus printed on paper and overall ambiance just was not what corresponded to the price. There was a somewhat unpleasant smell (like it wasn't cleaned too). Pisco sour was good, my wife's sangria was not terrible but not great. Service was quite good and very attentive.
